Juneteenth: History on Parade

Just two blocks from the Austin's Annual Juneteenth Parade, the French Legation is screening historic footage of Juneteenth celebrations from Austin's past. Videos include footage from 1976 and the 1990s and showcase how East Austin has celebrated past and present. Cool off in our visitor center for a while and journey into the past before celebrating today.

This summer, we're giving back to our community with free admission to the San Jacinto Museum to residents of La Porte every Thursday in June and July.  Bring proof of La Porte residency and explore our exhibits, delve into the rich history of Texas, and enjoy a day at the San Jacinto Museum.
