Our 5th annual Homeschool Day welcomes homeschool students for a day full of education and fun! Every visitor to the Sam Rayburn House will pay a $3.00 admission fee on this day (children ages five and under are free admission).

Join us in the historic villa de Austin and help staff make quilt squares! The goal is to one day have a quilt to put in the villa, but in order to have a quilt, we have quite a lot of sewing to do! Join us to sew a stitch or two and help us reach our goal! The program will run from 10 am to 4pm

San Jacinto Family Day: Our Colorful Past- Exploring Natural Dyes

Saturday 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Join us outside of the San Jacinto Monument where our educators will guide visitors through some of the natural dyes used at the times of the Texas frontier. Participants will get the chance to hand-dye some cotton to take home.

Thundering Hooves "Horse Art" Ceremony

After you've made some "horse art" from your found objects after the Earth Day celebration, you will have an opportunity to present and discuss your masterpiece during our “Horse Art” award ceremony on Saturday, May 2, from 1pm to 3pm.
