The Texas Historical Commission's Curatorial Facility for Artifact Research houses historic and archeological collections from the agency’s state historic sites. At the facility, state employees, interns, contractors, and researchers work to ensure the preservation and appropriate documentation of all material.
Activities undertaken at the facility include conserving artifacts, cleaning objects, identifying items, inventorying and cataloging collections, and packaging collections for storage. The goal of the staff at the repository is to provide the greatest access to materials while practicing good stewardship of artifacts held-in-trust by the THC.
