National Historic Preservation Act
The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is an independent federal agency that promotes the preservation, enhancement, and productive use of our nation's historic resources, and advises the President and Congress on national historic preservation policy. The agency was established by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and oversees implementation of Section 106 of that Act. Useful tools on its website include:
