Join The Friends of Casa Navarro to celebrate the 229th anniversary of the birthday of José Antonio Navarro, a Texas Patriot. A ceremony at 10 a.m. will kick off the event followed by mariachis, demonstrations, and refreshments. And of course, birthday cake!
5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds of the Lighthouse for Saturday, March 30. The event starts at 9 a.m. when the Easter Bunny arrives. Easter Egg Hunt: 10 a.m.
It’s a different kind of “hunt”. Over 20,000 eggs will be scattered on the hill of the Lighthouse. Participants will need to bring their own baskets and will line up on the east side of Lighthouse Park. At 10 a.m. the starting line will be released, and the fun begins.
1,000 SPECIAL eggs will be included in the hunt containing instructions for a History Hunt! Follow the directions to earn prizes while learning about the history of the Lighthouse.
Open to the public. No admission fee to event. Lighthouse Hours on Easter Egg Hunt Day: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Join the Sam Bell Maxey House for Easter activities at the site during the Easter Egg Scramble, including an egg hunt, or “scramble”, on the grounds followed by Easter-themed crafts and yard games.
This year we will be commemorating the Red River War in the Texas Panhandle with a series of programs beginning in April and continuing through October. This program will feature Eldrena Douma, a Native American storyteller who will present the Native American perspective of the war. Regular entry fee will be charged.
