Death at the Magoffin Home: Friday the 13th

We spend most of our time talking about the lives of the Magoffins, but Friday the 13th is the perfect time to share their deaths.

Cycling Saturdays

Saturday 7 a.m. - 9 a.m.

The roads within the San Jacinto State Historic Site will open early for bicyclists. Travel our 7.5 miles of site roads and see the battleground where Texas was won at your own pace. No motorized vehicles will be allowed into the site during this time to promote safe bicycling.

The Texas Frontier Adventure Trail

Join us June 13–14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fort Martin Scott in Fredericksburg for an interactive, family-friendly program exploring 19th-century frontier life. Featuring hands-on activities, storytelling, and living history interpreters, this immersive experience brings Texas history to life. Registration is required. Stories of the Enslaved

To date, we have identified over 70 people who were living and working in and around the town of San Felipe de Austin as an enslaved worker in Stephen Austin's time. Come join us as we celebrate the lives and contributions of four of those individuals: Turner (pictured in our event image), Celia, Joe, and Mary.
