Join us for the final Saturday of our summer camp programming!

Did you know that honey bees aren't native to the United States and that hundreds of species of native bees call Texas home? Most of these bees don't live in colonies like honey bees and don't produce honey, but they are well suited to our climate, are incredibly docile, and really fun to watch!

Come learn the differences between these native bees and honey bees, learn why solitary bees are so important, and learn how to create your own solitary bee habitat!

Adults, children, and kids at heart are invited to come for this lecture and learn about native bees, beekeeping, and pollinator preservation from local apiary Two Hives Honey! Local beekeepers will show and tell the basics while answering questions and teaching guests about their local pollinators.

Registration required for this ticketed event. Space is limited inside the historic French Legation

Admission is $25 per person. To register fill out this form.

If you have any additional questions feel free to reach out to us at frenchlegation@thc.texas.gov.

This summer the French Legation is hosting a series of classes and workshops for the whole family! Learn heritage skills like quilting, beekeeping, and more.
