Join us for our new program series, Lunchbox Talks! You bring your own lunch, and we provide the discussion! To start us off, we'll have educator, Erin Frigo discuss her recent presentation presented at the NAI (National Association for Interpretation) conference back in mid-February called "The Gears the move History". In this presentation, she'll discuss the STEM programs she has created for the Bush House and how she interprets and incorporates them into the history and stories of the Bush House, the Bush family, and 1950s life and history overall. Please join us for the take-off of this new program on May 7 at noon! Don't forget your lunch! 🙂

Cycling Saturdays

Saturday 7 a.m. - 9 a.m.

The roads within the San Jacinto State Historic Site will open early for bicyclists. Travel our 7.5 miles of site roads and see the battleground where Texas was won at your own pace. No motorized vehicles will be allowed into the site during this time to promote safe bicycling.

Just like today, businesses in San Felipe de Austin in 1830 had to get a permit to operate. On June 6, 1831, the Ayuntamiento was given the authority to enforce that every business must have a license, and we are going to put you through the paces to earn yours!

Join us as we spend the day unraveling from all the hard duties soldiers performed during their service on the Texas frontier. Sing and hum along with musicians as they sing historic songs and play period instruments.
