1950s Summer Movie Series - Creature From the Black Lagoon

Tuesday 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Join us in the backyard of the Bush Family Home as we watch Creature from the Black Lagoon. We encourage all guests to bring chairs and snacks. This free public event is open to all ages in the family, young or old. Activities start at 6:30, movie starts at 7:30.

Girl Scout Art Day Camp: Day One

Wednesday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Is your child a Brownie or Junior Girl Scout? Over 3 half days, they can earn their Art & Design Badge and learn about Texas history along the way!

Way Back Wednesday; Bandboxes of the 19th Century

Wednesday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

We close out our June line up with a utilitarian item, the bandbox. These boxes were created in all shapes and sizes and used to contain a host of item throughout the 18th and 19th century! Learn the art of building them, and take away one you craft yourself on June 25th! This event is free with paid admission to the museum, and is open to all ages!

Discovery Kids is a hands-on program where children explore museums and the Maxey House through hands-on, engaging experiences, then create their own exhibits in the Visitors Center.
