Weaving in Nature Family Camp

Please join us for this fun two-day family camp on Friday, July 19 at 2 pm exploring the various ecological systems at Caddo Mounds and a cookout dinner. Then on Saturday, July 20, at 10 am, families experiment with various weaving practices resulting in a completed weaving project to take home. Register by calling Caddo Mounds at 936-858-3218

Keeping Cool in the Villa

It's the most common question we receive: "aren't you hot in those clothes?" Staff will be stationed in our outdoor exhibit, the Villa de Austin, from 9am to 4pm (extreme heat permitting) to talk about it!

Summer Camp Series - Writing Your Personal History

Join us for the second Saturday of our summer camp programming! The local author and legend Spike Gillespie is teaching a writing workshop so you can grow your skill and convey your personal history.

Experience San Jacinto Summer Camp- July Session

The San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site presents “Experience San Jacinto,” a three-day summer camp program that immerses the participant in the history before the battle, the battle itself, and its aftermath.

Marvelous Marbles

Come out to Levi Jordan Plantation State Historic Site and try your hand at marble making and playing some classic marble games! We will provide all supplies needed to make your marbles included with site admission! The event will take place on Saturday, July 27th from 10 am to noon!
