National Register Forms
Texas Historical Commission staff will provide copies of the current National Register form ONLY after making a determination of eligibility for a property. Please refer to the National Register Process in Texas on how to initiate the determination process.
Each National Register nomination submission must include the Property Owner Notification Form in order for the THC to properly notify all parties prior to review by the State Board of Review
Federal Regulations
The Texas Historical Commission administers the National Register program in Texas following the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 36, Chapter I, Part 60 (36 CFR 60, National Register of Historic Places).
THC Publications
- Remembering Texas: Guidelines to Historical Research is published by the THC, and explains the research methods and documentation necessary for successful applications for Official Texas Historical Markers, National Register nominations, and other historical designations in Texas. It also identifies research collections in Texas and elsewhere, and includes an annotated bibliography.
