Historical Marker Dedication: Mt. Zion Baptist Church
Saturday 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.On Saturday, May 23, 2026, Mt. Zion Baptist Church in southern Rusk County will unveil and dedicate their Texas Historical Marker. The congregation dates back to 1870, when it was founded by formerly enslaved people from the near-by Monte Verdi plantation.
