AUSTIN, Texas—The Texas Historical Commission (THC) is once again proud to offer free admission to its historic sites to active-duty members of the United States Armed Forces and their families in conjunction with the national Blue Star Museum initiative.
Beginning Saturday, May 17, all THC-operated state historic sites will offer free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and up to five family members, including National Guard and Reserve.
Non-THC-operated museums like the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg and the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site in La Porte will also offer free admission to active-duty service members and their family.
Blue Star Museums is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, collaborating with the Department of Defense and museums across America.

The Blue Star Museum initiative runs from May 17 through Labor Day, Sept. 1. After Labor Day, all historic sites managed by the THC will continue to provide free admission for active-duty military and their immediate family members. The THC also offers discounted admission rates to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces year-round.
The THC is proud to offer this small token of appreciation to the brave men and women who have worn a uniform of the United States Armed Forces and their families.
