Preserving Texas history and places means many things to many people. For those working for or with the Texas Historical Commission, it means focusing our talent and energy on saving identifiable special places in Texas within the built environment. As a result, and at the direction of the Texas Legislature, we develop projects and programs to meet this goal. We work for all Texans, past, present, and future.
