San Jacinto Family Day: Corn Husk Angels

Saturday 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Kids had to make their own toys on the Texas frontier, and a corn husk doll was a staple of a Texas childhood in the 1830s. Join us to learn about dolls on the frontier and make your own holiday corn husk angel to take home.

Our annual tradition is a free event to open up the holiday season for your whole family!

Ornament Workshop

Saturday 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Begin the holiday season with the Bush Family Home 1st Ornament Workshop on December 7th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This is a free come-and-go event that is great for families to come and make a gingerbread man for the Christmas Tree. Refreshments will be served. If families desire, they can take a tour for regular admission of the Bush family home and see it decorated for the holidays. One special decoration will be a re-creation of the fireplace mantel as it was in 1953 just after Robin Bush passed away of leukemia. Visitors will feel the emotion the Bushes felt during that 1st Christmas without their daughter.
