Chinking and Daubing: Insulating Historic Log Buildings

It's that time of the year again, where we will replace the chinking and daubing on one of the villa buildings. Join us on Saturday October 17 and learn about the historic method of insulating log buildings. Guests are encouraged to participate.

Join us in the Old 300 Learning Hall for a discussion about why the cemetery is where it is, how cemeteries were thought of in the time of Stephen F. Austin, and some pure conjecture on who might be buried in San Felipe that we don't have record of! Light refreshments will be served.

Surveyors were a vital part of Austin's Colony, but how did they actually divide up Texas? Come learn about the tools and techniques a surveyor from Austin's time would have used in order to divide land for to-be colonists.
