9/11 25th Anniversary Commemoration
Friday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.Join us for a solemn event commemorating 9/11 and those affected by it on the 25th anniversary of the tragic attack. It will be open to the general public to attend as we honor people and their memories from that day.
Children's Health Fair
Saturday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.Join us for our Children's Health Fair on September 12, 2026, from 10 AM to 3 PM! This event is done during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to honor the memory of Robin Bush, who tragically passed from cancer in 1953. We have a schedule of various classes being offered by local businesses going throughout the day. No need to reserve a spot, just show up in time to participate in the class you'd like to attend! Booths will also be set up. We encourage families to come learn, have fun, and attend as many classes as possible!
Third Thursday Reading Program
Thursday 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.Join us for our Third Thursday Reading Program on September 17, 2026 from 5:30-6:30 PM! Our featured book is The Pigeon HAS to Go to School! by Mo Willems and read by our guest reader Crystal Meza from Midland Dentistry 4 Kids. After the reading, kids will receive a free copy of the featured book and get to participate in a fun activity!
Movie Club: Three Came Home (1950)
Saturday 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.Join us for our next installment of the Movie Club on September 19, 2026! Our theme is WW2 with a focus on the U.S. perspective. We're starting with Three Came Home (1950). The Movie Club is free to join for anyone interested and functions like a book club - but for movies! Members must watch the movies before each meeting and come ready to discuss it the day of.
Kids Reading to Dogs
Saturday 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.Join us for our Kids Reading to Dogs program on September 19, 2026, from 1-3 PM. We partner with Grand Companions to offer a fun experience for both adoptable dogs and their potential forever families! Families are invited to bring their own books to read to the dogs or use on of ours. In fact, we'll let you keep it!
Worldwide Day of Play
Saturday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.Join us for our annual Worldwide Day of Play event on September 26, 2026! Iconic 1950s games and activities will be available for families to participate in from 10 AM to 3 PM. You can find them located across our Visitor Center area and the actual Bush Family Home. You can look forward to seeing hopscotch, limbo, croquet, and more!
The Anti-Bombshells
Wednesday 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.Join Educator Erin Frigo to learn all about the anti-bombshells of the 1950s! Archaeology Day
Saturday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.Join us for our 2026 Archaeology Day! Families get to learn how to be an archaeologist with an activity about candy from different decades. Our Educator, and resident archaeologist, Erin Frigo leads this program with help from the rest of the team!
Homeschool Day
Thursday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.For those who homeschool, we have just the treat for you coming in October! We'll be hosting a homeschool event right here at the Bush House, where you can come and explore three stations at the Bush House! You'll get a tour of the house, play a game of croquet in the backyard, and enjoy a STEM activity! We'll also have organizations with booths for you explore as well! Put it on your calendar and we look forward to seeing you! 10am to 2pm on October 15th!
