Third Thursday Reading Program
Thursday 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.Join us for our Third Thursday Reading Program for the month of April. We have a very special guest reader: our very own Educator Erin Frigo! She is also the author of our featured book, Let Me Tell You About Charlotte. A fun activity will be available after the reading portion of the event. Kids in attendance will take home a free copy of our featured book as well!
Music at the Mansion
Thursday 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.Join us for Music at the Mansion featuring local, live music in a relaxed, family- and pet-friendly setting. Bring your own beverage, cooler, chair, blanket, and picnic basket to enjoy an evening of music under the skies. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended for a comfortable experience! Food will be available for purchase! Be sure to come early to see the Mansion, dress up, and play lawn games! Schedule: 6-7pm: 1st floor admission 7-8:30: Live music Food Available for Purchase Dress up and get your picture taken in our Victorian outfits!
Archeology Day
Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.Join us for a fun and relaxing self guided day at San Felipe de Austin! We will have two different scavenger hunts available to make the experience unique - one all about the Texas Revolution (and San Felipe) and the other all about archeology at San Felipe! There will also be archeology fun facts hidden all over the property, so even if you have been here before you might learn something new!

Thundering Hooves Earth Day Event
Saturday 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.It’s never…just a horse! Spanning from prehistoric cave paintings to contemporary masterpieces that capture their strength, grace, and beauty, horse art symbolizes the evolving bond between humans and these majestic beings. Whether they are galloping in fields or standing at rest, their unique combination of athleticism and gentle spirit makes them, enduringly, captivating, living art. Not only are they beautiful to watch and fun to ride, horses are ecosystem heroes, natural land managers with an important role in our environment. Bring along your imagination and creativity and join us for this family friendly, fun filled celebration of Horses. We will - create art, discover how horses are “Ecosystem Heroes”, learn the history of the Native American “Horse Dance” and watch an Award-Winning Short Film, “BUDDY TWO SOCKS”, featuring original music by Gareth Laffely, a Mi'kmaq/Cree award winning composer. Gareth will join us virtually to talk about how music is a powerful storytelling tool that brings life to films by establishing mood, and deepening audience connection. In conclusion you will take home instructions for a unique recycling project. Learn how to tap into your creativity and create “Horse Art” from found objects. You will have an opportunity to present and discuss your masterpiece during our “Horse Art” award ceremony on Saturday, May 2, from 1pm to 3pm.
