Join the Texas Historical Commission and the Bullock Texas State History Museum for the Texas Archeology Fair, a statewide celebration of history, heritage, and archeology—co-hosted as part of the museum’s H-E-B Free First Sunday on October 5.
This free public event features a wide array of hands-on activities, artifact displays, crafts, games, and expert demonstrations that highlight the varied cultures and traditions that have shaped Texas history. Visitors of all ages can explore interactive booths hosted by archeologists, historians, tribal representatives, and museums from across the state. Learn how archeologists uncover the past, try your hand at ancient technologies such as the atlatl, make your own pinch pot, and get a deeper look at the archeological profession with cultural heritage professionals.
Held throughout the museum and its Lone Star Plaza on the Capitol Mall, this event welcomes new audiences to both organizations and promotes the Bullock Museum as a central hub for exploring Texas’ rich and varied stories.
The Texas Archeology Fair is part of Texas Archeology Month. Check out the TAM Calendar and Map to discover events happening across the state.
