Join us on Saturday, June 14th as we celebrate the stories of a few of the people who were enslaved in Austin's Colony.
To date, we have identified over 70 people who were living and working in and around the town of San Felipe de Austin as an enslaved worker in Stephen Austin's time. Come join us as we celebrate the lives and contributions of four of those individuals: Turner (pictured in our event image), Celia, Joe, and Mary.
Each one of these people contributed greatly to the town's history and Texas history in ways that were underscored and underappreciated by many during their time.
This event lasts from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, June 14th. We will see you there!
