In honor of Juneteenth, learn how those living and working in Austin’s Colony and San Felipe de Austin made their mark on local and state history under terms of enslavement. San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site has learned the names of about 70 individuals identified as enslaved labor in historic documents. Four of these individuals – Turner Morgan, Celia Allen, Mary Marks, and Joe Travis – have enough historical record left behind to piece together their stories living and working here 200 years ago.

This program will be held in the Learning Hall at San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site beginning at 2:30pm on Saturday, June 14th. This program will also be hosted at Stephen F. Austin State Park at 12:30pm on the same day.
