Life was challenging for the friars of Mission Dolores. In addition to prayer and ministering to the local Ais, they also worked to produce food and other items needed for daily life. In a letter to his superiors, Father Antonio Margil de Jesús wrote ‘[I] spent [my] days cultivating the soil, weaving baskets, cutting wood, and making cord.” Join site educator Amy from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and learn to weave your own basket. Participants will make their own breadbasket to take home. Impress your family and friends with this handmade addition to your holiday table.
