Join us on Saturday, July 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fort Martin Scott State Historic Site for a hands-on experience focused on 19th-century women's pastimes. This event explores how women at the fort spent their rare moments of leisure—specifically through the timeless art of cross stitching.

We’re excited to offer a fun and educational session where participants will learn basic techniques using authentic 1840s stitching guides. Each guest will stitch their name onto a canvas bag to take home! This activity is open to all skill levels, ages 12 and up.

It’s a great opportunity for history lovers, crafters, and curious learners to explore traditional domestic arts and connect with the lives of women on the Texas frontier.

Pre-registration is required—only 15 spots are available! To register, please call 830-304-1848 or email ftmartinscott@thc.texas.gov. Program is $10.00 per person

Don’t forget to arrive a few minutes early to get settled. We look forward to seeing you for this hands-on and memorable experience!
