Cemetery Workshop 2

Register today for one of two 2-day headstone cleaning and repair workshops near Athens, Texas! The Texas Historical Commission’s Cemetery Preservation Program and The Friends of The Texas Historical Commission are offering two opportunities to receive hands-on training. The workshop will be taught by James "Rusty" Brenner of Texas Cemetery Restoration LLC.

Each 2-day workshop will cover the same material: headstone cleaning, headstone leveling and headstone resetting and repair. Registration is $30 and each workshop will be capped at 25 attendees.

Both cemeteries have access to a pavilion and portable toilets. Workshops will begin at 9am and will conclude at 4pm. Lunch will not be provided and, as the locations will be rural, attendees should bring their own lunches and drinking water. Attendees should plan on wearing gardening-like attire and bring chairs, gloves, a hat and other similar items that they might require.
