Join us for an unforgettable evening under the stars at one of the darkest night skies in Texas! Fort Griffin’s remote location and exceptionally low light pollution create the perfect setting for stargazing and exploring the wonders of the universe.
Local astronomers will be on site with telescopes and viewing equipment to help guests observe planets, star clusters, nebulae, distant galaxies, and other celestial sights visible in the summer sky. Whether you’re a longtime astronomy enthusiast or simply curious about the night sky, this is a great opportunity to experience the cosmos in a truly remarkable setting.
The program will take place in the astronomy viewing area behind the Visitor Center on the evening of June 6th. Space is limited, and reservations are required. Guests must call ahead to reserve their spot and pre-pay admission. A temporary gate code for after-hours entry will be provided to each family at the time of reservation.
Come discover why Fort Griffin is considered one of Texas’s hidden gems for stargazing!
