To build a city out of the virgin oak and cedar woods of the area, many different tradesmen were required. Join us and see how the town of Washington was constructed in the 1830s-50s. You will see surveyors, blacksmithing, brick making, log and frame construction demos, and carpentry. “Buy” a town lot at a Washington Town Company auction, and then find where the actual lot was on the park grounds! For more information, contact Tynan Shadle at tynan.shadle@thc.texas.gov or 936-878-2214 ext 224.
