Fort McKavett was built and maintained by Soldiers who possessed some skill in the various trades needed to construct the wood and stone structures that made up the post. These Soldiers were often rewarded for their skill with extra pay and privileges beyond that of a common, unskilled Soldier. Join us for Spring Break as we demonstrate the various trades of Fort McKavett, discuss the various tools and techniques essential, and see where some of these exact tools were found during the Fort's several archeological digs.
